Two Alerts: Burglary Suspects…and Missing Person

In unrelated incidents, police are asking the public’s help in searching for a missing woman…and two burglary suspects.

We’ve received two alert notices in the last 24 hours that are worth passing along to our readers:

Attempted Burglary

The first was a report from the SSA security service about a burglary attempt on the 500 block of S. Van Ness Ave.  According to the report:

“On February 15, at approximately 11:20 a.m., [a neighbor] heard glass break in [a] driveway in the 500 block of S Van Ness. The…[neighbor] looked out to see a male (African American, dressed in black athletic gear, more details below) climbing through the broken glass window of the home. It appeared they used a brick to break the window after prying off the metal window protectors…The [neighbor] immediately called 9-1-1, which the [neighbor] believes is when the burglary suspects heard the [neighbor] and then made eye-to-eye contact through the window. Then another woman (90% sure it was a female) appeared and the two walked away, walking back down Van Ness towards 6th Street.”

According to the SSA report, LAPD arrived quickly and took detailed information about the suspects, which included the following details:

SUSPECT# 1: African-American Male, dressed in black nylon workout athletic pants and zip jacket, royal blue sweatshirt/shirt sticking out at the bottom. Military style Camouflage hat similar to photo

SUSPECT# 2: Possible African-American Female, dressed similarly in black nylon workout athletic pants and zip jacket, royal blue sweatshirt/shirt sticking out at the bottom.

Both were wearing military-style Camouflage hats, similar to the one in the photo above.

If you encounter these suspects, please contact LAPD  immediately. If you are an SSA subscriber, call the on duty SSA Officer on the cell phone provided to you,
