Update: Wilshire Blvd. Lane Closures POSTPONED

After several notices that Wilshire Blvd. lane closures would begin on Friday night to facilitate the next phase of preparatory construction for the Purple Line Subway Extension, Metro announced late Monday that

“The traffic reconfiguration scheduled this weekend for Wilshire and La Brea has been postponed.”

No reason or revised date for the closures was provided, but Metro’s notice said the work “will be rescheduled shortly.”

Wilshire Blvd. was scheduled to be reduced to two lanes in each direction, instead of three, to install barriers and fencing that would prepare the area for pile installations in November.  The Buzz will post further updates when the work is rescheduled.
