Temporary Preferential Parking District (TPPD) 215, covering the small cul de sac neighborhood bordered by Lillian Way, Cahuenga Blvd. and Wilcox Avenue in Hancock Park, has been modified since it was initially proposed. Â The Buzz obtained an updated map of the TPPD from CD4 Senior Field Deputy Nikki Ezhari.
Enforcement of TPPD is scheduled to start in the next two weeks, said CD4 Councilmember David Ryu in a meeting with residents last Sunday. At the meeting, Ryu said he pushed for the implementation of the parking district, which residents contend was promised by former Council member Tom LaBonge but languished for years.
However, not everyone in the TPPD area is pleased about the new parking controls, including Councilmember Ryu, who said parking restrictions just push the problem off to another street.  Nonetheless, there are hundreds of preferential parking districts in the city. Most streets around Larchmont Village have some kind of restricted parking. TPPD 215 is the latest, though it’s the only temporary district, and Councilmember Ryu has vowed to re-evaluate it at the end of its one-year term.
