Serving Larchmont Village, Hancock Park, and the Greater Wilshire neighborhoods of Los Angeles since 2011.

Full Weekend Closures of Wilshire Blvd. Begin This Friday, June 10

metroconstructionheader

On Friday, June 10, Metro will begin full weekend closures of Wilshire Blvd. to install surface-level decking materials to facilitate construction of the Wilshire-La Brea subway station.  The deck panels will serve as the temporary roadway and sidewalk while underground work and excavation continues. This will allow traffic to continue to flow while maintaining access to sidewalks and driveways, as construction continues underground.

In general, the decking work – which involves excavating Wilshire and placing steel beams and deck panels across the street – will occur on Wilshire Blvd. between Detroit St. and Orange Drive.  It will occur over the span of 22 weekends (not including the Fourth of July and Labor Day holiday weekends). Sidewalk access will be maintained with intermittent closures.
