For Sale: House Featured in “Clear and Present Danger”

One of the things about our neighborhood that makes it exceptional is that there are so many different styles of homes – Craftsman, Tudor, French Chateau, Mediterranean and more. It’s one of the reasons people from all parts of the country feel so comfortable here – there’s always a house or even an entire block of houses that remind many of us of where we grew up.

That’s also one of the main reasons that location managers love this area – they can save a lot of time and money staying in LA and filming a scene that is supposed to be set almost anywhere in the US.

And the fun for us who live here is recognizing that  Cahuenga passed for Milwaukee for years (Happy Days); that various homes in the neighborhood could be in Lima, Ohio (Glee); and that Bruce Wayne lived on Hudson (Batman TV Series). Not to mention that many neighborhood locales provided the back drop for one of this year’s Oscar favorites (The Artist).

All great creative leaps – but none as much fun as “Clear and Present Danger”. Who knew that the beautiful Southern Colonial on Rossmore between 6th and Wilshire was “cast” as the Georgetown home of the great Tom Clancy character, Jack Ryan, in the 1994 movie.

The 6 bedroom, 6.5 bathroom house can be yours – it’s recently come on the market and is featured in Thursday’s LA Times.
