Tumblr Interviews Moby About LA Architecture

Moby is a musician who is best known for his electronic based dance music.  When I think of the lobby of the classic W Hotel on Lexington and 39th Street in NYC (which is closed I’ve learned), I think of Moby. Moby’s music fueled the lounge music scene in the ’90s and he’s continued to push, collaborate and experiment – leading the way towards the electronica/techno beats that are so popular today. If you are so inclined, click on this Moby track while you read the rest of this post and sample his familiar sound…

For the past several months, Moby – an avid photographer since he was a child – has been curating his own architecture blog called MobyLosAngelesArchitecture.com. It’s really a collection of his thoughts on lots of places we are used to seeing everyday, seen through his eyes with more texture and light.

Curbed LA draws our attention to a recent interview Moby granted to Jessica Bennett at Tumblr’s Storyboard…notable for Larchmont Buzz readers in that he speaks about a Hancock Park experience he recently had in pursuit of content for his architecture blog. It just shows you – you never know if that photographer outside is a paparazzi, a location scout or a famous musician/blogger looking for that perfect picture to illustrate an architectural point. When you’re ready, turn down that tune and give a listen to the video interview… Moby, a NY area native and LA transplant, obviously loves our city!
