Moby is a musician who is best known for his electronic based dance music. Â When I think of the lobby of the classic W Hotel on Lexington and 39th Street in NYC (which is closed I’ve learned), I think of Moby. Moby’s music fueled the lounge music scene in the ’90s and he’s continued to push, collaborate and experiment – leading the way towards the electronica/techno beats that are so popular today. For the past several months, Moby – an avid photographer since he was a child – has been curating his own architecture blog called MobyLosAngelesArchitecture.com. It’s really a collection of his thoughts on lots of places we are used to seeing everyday, seen through his eyes with more texture and light.
Curbed LA draws our attention to a recent interview Moby granted to Jessica Bennett at Tumblr’s Storyboard…notable for Larchmont Buzz readers in that he speaks about a Hancock Park experience he recently had in pursuit of content for his architecture blog. It just shows you – you never know if that photographer outside is a paparazzi, a location scout or a famous musician/blogger looking for that perfect picture to illustrate an architectural point.
