For Your Art, a splendid little arts house operating out of a small storefront at 6020 Wilshire, is hosting a reception for conceptual artist John Baldessari on Saturday, May 18 from 5-7 pm. In his latest collaboration with Mixografia a specialty printing house on East Adams Blvd, this latest  series from Baldessari, Crowds with Shape of Reason Missing: Examples 1-6, 2012, examines the idea of removing the predominant subject of an image and replacing it with a nondescript white form.
John Baldessari is a conceptual artist widely known for creating the infamous “Post Studio” class at CalArts and for taking familiar film images out of their original context and manipulating them, often adding sentences or words to give them a whole new meaning. He has been a key figure in the southern California art scene since the early 1960s.
