CicLAvia Community Meeting Planned for Greater Wilshire Area

Bikes at Ciclavia-001

CicLAvia is coming to our neighborhood…in more ways than one! The next CicLAvia takes place on Sunday, June 23rd and is a car-free takeover of Wilshire Boulevard from Downtown’s Grand Avenue to Fairfax in the Miracle Mile. Bicycles and pedestrians will rule the day as the streets will be all theirs for extended CicLAvia hours – from 9am-4pm.

This week representatives of CicLAvia are holding a community meeting designed to inform and invite participation from the Greater Wilshire in this City-wide happening.

The meeting takes place this Thursday, May 23rd. The discussion will include an opportunity to get information about all aspects of the day… from how this event will impact the streets of our area to how businesses and volunteer can engage at the CicLAvia hub and along the route. It’s open to all – just RSVP prior to the meeting so they can get a head count.

Mary has lived in the Hancock Park area for over 20 years - including homes in Larchmont Village and Windsor Square. Mary has lived in some great places in her life - but none compare to the convenience and majesty of our neighborhood. For Mary, the neighborhood has been a wonderful home to her large, extended family...at one time she had family members living on seven different Hancock Park area blocks! Larchmont Buzz is a labor of love - built to celebrate the neighborhood and to elevate the conversation in the area.

    • This’ll be the second time this year, actually. And they are talking about doing it monthly, so that makes it 12, plus the various marathons, half-marathons, 5k’s, and other events that over-run the streets on a regular basis.
