Perhaps you’ve decided to get more involved in your local community in 2014? A great place to start is the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council (GWNC) and their regular Board Meetings that take place on the second Wednesday of every month. Through a network of 95 Neighborhood Councils, the City of Los Angeles promotes public participation in government to improve government responsiveness to local concerns.
This Wednesday, the GWNC will hold its first Board Meeting of the year. The agenda is posted online, at the GWNC Website. Some of the highlights of the meeting include:

Comments from the public on the agenda items will be heard only when that item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters, not appearing on the agenda but within the Board’s subject matter jurisdiction, will be heard during the Community Concerns and Public Comment periods. Public comment is limited to two (2) minutes per speaker, unless waived by the presiding officer of the Board.
