The Hollywood Half Marathon, 5K and 10K starts up at 6am on Saturday, April 5 – giving runners a chance to take on a course that includes some familiar sites. This year the 13.1 mile course is all Hollywood – both Echo Park and Silverlake have been removed from the course. Race organizers bill the race as being fast and mostly flat.
The starting line is in front of the Dolby Theater at the Hollywood and Highland complex. All races will start at 6am and head east. The half marathon travels along Hollywood to Sunset, down to Santa Monica Boulevard. Runners will head west on Santa Monica and then double back once they get to Vermont.
As for traffic, roads in Hollywood will be closed from 12am-2pm to varying degrees.
- The area around the Start Line will be closed between 12am – 10am.
- Exits on the 101 will be closed between 4am-11am – including Gower Street, Hollywood Boulevard and Glendale Boulevard/Echo Park Avenue.
- All north/south roads crossing the course will be closed between 4am and 11am with staggered openings starting at 8am…see the chart below:
