Highland Avenue, between Melrose and Santa Monica Bl, is becoming a thriving arts community and this Saturday Feb 28th ForYourArt is hosting a free, self-guided, walkable tour of the area’s galleries and gathering spots, complete with exhibitions, performances and workshops. It should be a great opportunity to nose around this developing neighborhood, only a mile north of the Hancock Park area.

11am to 12pm: ForYourArt hosts a free 1-hour Donut Show at Donut Time (6785 Santa Monica Blvd.)
11am–6pm: Exhibitions and Open Houses at Blackman Cruz, Diane Rosenstein Fine Art, GAVLAK, Hannah Hoffman Gallery, JF Chen, Kohn Gallery, LAND, LA>
11am–3pm: Brunch and Lunch at Mud Hen Tavern (742 Highland Ave.), with a free champagne cocktail to Walk of Art attendees.
12pm–4pm: Women’s Center for Creative Work Lounge in the garden at Free City (1139 Highland Ave.)
11:30am–12:30pm: Inaugural day for Slanguage Studio’s “Slanguage Juniors” for kids 8-12 years old at LA>
1–2:30pm: Inaugural day for Slanguage Studio’s “Slanguage Teen Art Council (S.T.A.C.)” for 13–18 year olds at LA>Slanguage Teen Art Council (S.T.A.C.) is a young, art, curatorial teen council focused on art leadership. The teens are mentored by a leading teaching artists through a series of workshops that engage them in collaborative art skills. These skills include learning about the diverse jobs in the art field, engaging in discussions among themselves and with art professionals, fundraising, and engaging their community.
