Residents of North Irving Boulevard in Windsor Square will hold their third annual “Irving Army” Charity Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, June 14 from 9am – 3pm.

The sale, which will occur on the 100 block of North Irving Bl. between Beverly and 1st St, will include items from more than a dozen participating families. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support Animal Defenders International, an organization founded in 1990 whose Mission is to “educate, create awareness, and promote the interest of humanity in the cause of justice, and the suppression of all forms of cruelty to animals; whenever possible, to alleviate suffering, and to conserve and protect animals and their environment.”

Items for sale include high-end furniture, electronics, baby and kids items, designer clothing and jewelry, as well as other household and personal items.  A number of residents will also be providing lemonade and cookies for those in need of refreshment, and Animal Defenders International will be on site to educate shoppers about their good works.

The “Irving Army” Garage Sale initially began as a one-time event to raise funds for a neighborhood resident undergoing medical treatment.  Due to the positive response from the local community and the city of Los Angeles at large, the Charity Sale has become an annual affair known for offering quality products and a friendly and festive atmosphere.

If you’re out and about doing yard sales this Saturday, the Hope Lutheran Church on Melrose will also be holding their monthly Rummage Sale with some new improvements – including the option of pick up or deliver by truck. Information below. Hope Lutheran Rummage Sale June 2014

  1. curious what “a portion” of the proceeds actually means. 1% is a portion. not sure why they don’t say “all” or “half” or 25%. love to know that before i’m overly generous
