Senior Los Angeles Police Department leaders are hosting a forum for the African American community tonight at Los Angeles High School at 7 p.m. at the Harrison Memorial Hall.
“Everyone in the community is welcome to this annual event,” Sargent A.J. Kirby of the Wilshire Division told the Buzz. The objective of the forum is to invite the community meet with LAPD leadership and discuss issues of concern to the community.
“We move the meeting around every year, this year we are at Los Angeles High School because we want to promote all the good work being done by the staff at the high school,” said Kirby.  Los Angeles High School, one of the first buildings in the area when it was built in 1921, can be seen this historic photo on the Buzz website.
Police Commissioner Paula Madison and Neighborhood Prosecutor Mehrnoosh Zahiri will attend as well as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. Also speaking will be two alumni of the LAPD Cadet program to encourage kids to learn more about the youth leadership program offered by the police department.
Derricks Jamaican Cuisine will provide the food.
