Larchmont Fair This Sunday October 27

L Fair
The petting zoo, pony rides and water ball games were some of the favorite experiences from last years Larchmont Fair.

It’s that time of year again – the Larchmont Fair will be held this Sunday, October 27th from 12 – 5 pm on Larchmont Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and First Street.

Sponsored by the Larchmont Boulevard Association (LBA) the fair draws families for the rides, booths and food that people share along the street. The weather is expected to be sunny but not too hot, and the food and games abundant.

Attendees can expect to find their favorite fun from the past, including the petting zoo, rock climbing wall and the giant slide. And back by popular demand are the giant roller balls! This year they’ll have multiple sets – 1 set of giant land roller balls and 2 sets of giant water roller balls.  This should help alleviate long lines and allow the kids more fun time.

Set times for special entertainment:

12-12:45pm Halloween Contest – show up at Coldwell Banker South by the stage. Kids in costume can get their picture taken for free and sign up for the costume contest.

12:30pm Dance Performance – Halloween Dance performance by dancers from Sophie’s Dance

1pm Halloween Parade – always a favorite photo opportunity!  Be sure to gather early for best viewing location.

2pm Talent Show Set-up – participants should show up to Coldwell Banker South Office at 2p

2:30pm Talent Show Starts – prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ($500, $300 and $200)

3:45pm Dance Performance – more dance fun from Sophie’s Dance

4pm Pie Eating Contest – all we can say is you have to stay for this! Messy, small-town fair fun on our own Larchmont Boulevard. Join in if you dare!  Sign-ups the day of the fair.

Participants in the 2012 pie eating contest…this was early on and by the end they were unrecognizable.

The Larchmont Family Fair is truly a non-profit fundraiser at its best. In addition to raising money for the Larchmont Boulevard Association, participants at the fair raise money for local schools and non-profit organizations and charities. This year there will even be a 14-year old girl raising money to support Guatemalan girls who have been rescued from trafficking. At 13, she gave all of her bat mitzvah money to this cause and the Larchmont Fair presents an opportunity for her to take things up a notch.

And we will be there, too! We hope you’ll stop by the Larchmont Buzz photo booth to say hello and maybe take a silly photo of you and yours. We’ll have some dress-up options and you’ll get a photo strip to remember the day.

See you there!
