Library Games Tonight at Fremont Library

John C. Fremont Library is a happening place for kids and families this summer, with a wide variety of free fun events on Mondays and Thursdays.

Fancy a round of tennis ball golf? How about a balloon toss? Have you brushed up on your hula hooping skills lately? You’ll get a chance to do all of these and more this afternoon at “The Library Games,” where you can test your skills and participate in games and activities of all sorts starting at 4 pm.

Here’s a list of  more Summer Fun Thursdays events planned through July.

  • Thursday, June 30, 4:00 pm – Los Angeles Fire Department.
    Join a group of firefighters as they show off their truck and talk about fire safety and working for the fire department.
  • Thursday, July 7, 4:00 pm – Puppy Party.
    Make puppy crafts and cuddle with sweet puppies! Puppies will be in a pen and kids will wait for a turn to cuddle with them. You can have more than one turn.
  • Thursday, July 14, 4:00 pm – Songs and Stories with Tim Griffin.
    Tim Griffin writes and performs educational music about science, math, history, and more. You’ll have fun *and* expand your mind!
  • Thursday, July 21, 4:00 pm – Celebrate the Olympics.
    Enjoy stories and crafts relating to the Olympics.
  • Thursday, July 28, 4:00 pm – Finale Party.
    Family folk band The Hollow Trees will help us end summer on a high note. You won’t be able to keep yourself from joining the hootenanny!

Mondays are family nights with free performances starting at 6:30 pm all summer long.

  • Monday, June 27, 6:30 pm – Twinkle Time:
    Twinkle and her friends perform a super cool, high-energy, educational, bilingual, pop music show for kids of all ages.
  • Monday, July 11, 6:30 pm – Magic by Allen Oshiro:
    This incredible illusion act with a live rabbit and doves will reach out to the hearts of kids, young adults, and families of all ages. Plenty of audience participation.
  • Monday, July 18, 6:30 pm – Wildlife Wendy and her Performing Tropical Birds:
    These birds will wing their way into your heart! Trick performing, talking, singing and free flight are included in the program along with audience participation and education. Great for all ages!
  • Monday, July 25, 6:30 pm – Yoga for Kids with Abby Schachner:
    StoryTime With A Twist shares yoga in an exciting, fresh way so that kids can use their imaginations, while stretching their bodies AND minds. Who says exercise has to be boring?

All the events are free. You don’t need to sign up, just show up.
