Local Blood Drives Scheduled to Help Replenish Weather Related Shortages

The extremely cold weather to our east has severely impacted Red Cross blood donations throughout the country resulting in more than 450 American Red Cross blood drive cancellations and nearly 14,000 uncollected blood and platelet donations.

As a result, local Red Cross officials have scheduled several local blood donation opportunities to try to help replenish supplies. The blood donated at these events can help ensure blood is available for patients close to home or in other areas affected by the weather.

Did you know that you can donate every 56 days? That gives those who normally donate at St. Brendan School enough time to donate at one of these events…and then again in May when the donation mobile arrives at the local school.

Schedule your appointment for one of the opportunities listed here online or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). For additional opportunities in your area not listed here, please click here or call.
