The Mid City West Community Council will host a Bicycle Safety Class this Sunday, January 11 at 11am. The class is open to all, including people who live outside the Mid City West Community Council and will cover:

  • basic rules of the road for cyclists and drivers
  • important safety tips for cyclists
  • resources to improve riding skills

The class lasts two hours and is entirely in classroom. No bicycle is necessary. Perfect for bicyclists and drivers, kids and adults!

“Cycling is increasing city-wide, whether it is for recreation or commuting, we want to make sure cyclists and drivers feel safe in Mid City West” said Taylor Nichols, co-chair of the Transportation, Parking, and Streetscape Committee. “There’s a lot of confusion with new bike projects and rules around bicycling, so we’re offering this class to help answer some of the questions folks have about bicyclists on the road.”

The class will be taught by the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. The LACBC is the largest bicycle advocacy group working in the LA area. They offer classes, materials, events, and campaigns advocating for safe and healthy cycling.

Mid City West Community Council is the neighborhood council representing Miracle Mile north to West Hollywood and La Brea west to Beverly Hills. The MCWCC represents residents, business owners, students, and employees, within the neighborhood.
