Paris Photo will use a large section of the Paramount lot at Melrose and Windsor, and turn it into an international street fair of galleries.

A large lot in Paramount Pictures Studios at Melrose and Windsor will become a vast art fair on the weekend of April 26-28, 2013, brought to us by Paris Photo.

Paris Photo Los Angeles will gather photography professionals, collectors, artists and the public to view collections from key galleries around the world. Based on a similar exhibition that ran in France at the Grand Palais, Paris Photo is launching its first American edition right here in Hancock Park. Seventy one galleries, publishers and booksellers will be showing their wares on the Paramount lot, allowing the public to take their time meandering the booths and exploring the artwork.

The “Sound and Vision” component of the weekend will feature discussions and screenings from artists, musicians, filmmakers, and ‘thinkers’ and is included in the admission. The  list of invitees include Phil Collins, Alec Soth, Doug Aitken, Thomas Demand, Catherine Opie, Gregory Crewdson, Sharon Lockhart and Mad Men creator Mathhew Weiner, though it appears not all guests have been confirmed.

Read more about the event at the Paris Photo website. TIckets are $28 for a full day entry ($20/students) and can be purchased online.
