Hold the date and forgo the cooking – next Monday August 26th the neighborhood will be out in numbers, sampling food fare from over 20 restaurants on Larchmont Boulevard. In its 21st year, Taste of Larchmont is a welcome end-of-summer, beginning of school-year event that puts neighbors back in touch with one another while supporting HopeNet, a food pantry and meal service that feeds the hungry in our community.
A $40 ticket, pre-purchased online or available onsite that evening in the west parking lot Taste of Larchmont booth, allows diners to sample ‘small plates’ at the various vendors up and down Larchmont Boulevard. Â A list of participants is included below: Larchmont newcomers Lemonade and Chipotle are sadly missing. While the local stores were interested, it seems “corporate” didn’t come through for HopeNet.
“We are so grateful for the generous support from so many businesses that makes Taste of Larchmont work, for the 21st time,” Douglas Ferraro, HopeNet’s Executive Director told the Buzz.
Besides offering a vast array of food for dinner, Taste of Larchmont is a round-robin like opportunity to sit with new people at each location, stroll and take in the street entertainment, or browse many of the retail shops that will still be open with Sidewalk Sale buying opportunities. There will also be live music and a raffle, and this year’s theme, “A Winning Deal” will help support the 13 food pantries serving some 150,000 households last year. It can only make everything taste all that much better.
HopeNet is selling some great new t-shirts too, check them out online.
