Trina Turk boutique opening celebration is Thursday from 6-8 pm at 212-214 N. Larchmont

After months of working on the space, the Trina Turk boutique is opening this Thursday, with a celebration from 6-8 p.m., featuring libations from locals including Jardesca, the Burger Lounge and Salt and Straw. The 2,000 square foot store at 212-214 North Larchmont Blvd. will be the locally-based brand’s only LA boutique store after closing its outpost on Third Street a while back.

“I’ve always loved the neighborhood feel of Larchmont,” said Turk. “The central location in the heart of LA makes it easily accessible, and there’s lots of parking. It’s the lively mini-main-street for the Hancock Park area, with a unique mix of restaurants, specialty retail, fitness studios and services. I’ve shopped at Larchmont Beauty Center for years, so we look forward to being their next door neighbor.”

Turk opened her first retail boutique in Palm Springs in 2002 and has since expanded to twelve signature boutiques.

For the Larchmont shop, Turk partnered with Los Angeles based Bestor Architecture to design the boutique to showcase both the Trina Turk and Mr Turk collections. Bestor focused on creating a calm backdrop of Turk’s vibrant prints by including ivory silk tussah walls, white oak accents, scalloped floor tile and brass finishes. A swanky vintage 1970s Lightolier chandelier and pops of sunshine yellow add a special touch that reflects Turk’s optimistic brand aesthetic. Bestor created a new kind of modern warmth and luxurious space, while still making sure the space will be a shopping haven. As Trina Turk has been associated with modernist California and dazzling color, the store seeks to create a deep background of organic shapes, including wood and brass elements, with pops of sunset-colored wallpapers and fabric. The store will house Trina Turk women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, the swim and spa collection, activewear collection, Mr Turk menswear and Trina Turk residential.
