Weekend Los Angeles Drama Club Youth Performance of Taming of the Shrew

shrew-flyer

Children and youth from the neighborhood will be appearing – this weekend only – in a rare production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew – with all the gender’s flipped: Kate the Shrew is Jake the Cur, Bianca the sought after sister, is a boy, Bianco, who all the girls are after.

The Los Angeles Drama Club is the Country’s youngest Shakespeare troupe. Serving the community since 2004, many of its players are now in middle or high school and continue to stick with Shakespeare (and The Los Angeles Drama Club). Children in the show attend local schools: Larchmont Charter, St. Brendans, Milken Community School, Larchmont Charter West, Culver City Middle.

For Mary, the neighborhood has been a wonderful home to her large, extended family...at one time she had family members living on seven different Hancock Park area blocks! Larchmont Buzz is a labor of love - built to celebrate the neighborhood and to elevate the conversation in the area.
