Hancock Park Area American Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for May

St. Brendan School will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on May 8th in the Parish Center. St. Brendan’s has been a popular site for neighborhood blood drives – could it be the friendly volunteers? Or is it the extra helpings of cookies and juice?

To make your life-saving appointment, please contact Windsor Square neighbor Jackie Kruse at 323-788-7199 or visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code StBrendanLA.

Don’t forget to check out the calendar on our Larchmont Buzz home page for reminders about all kinds of events happening in the neighborhood! Did you know that you can subscribe to our calendar and all events will feed to your google calendars as a separate calendar? Then you can set up personal reminders for events like this that you are interested in.

The American Red Cross suggests some important things to think about as you put this on your calendar…

Why Donate Blood?

You don’t need a special reason to give blood. You just need your own reason.

  • Some of us give blood because we were asked by a friend.
  • Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood some day.
  • Some believe it is the right thing we do.

Whatever your reason, the need is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. And you’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life.

You will receive a mini physical to check your:

  • Pulse
  • Blood pressure
  • Body temperature
  • Hemoglobin

 Come prepared.

  • Have a light meal and plenty to drink.
  • Bring your donor card, driver’s license or two other forms of identification.
  • Bring the names of medications you are taking.
