On Saturday, May 12th  from 10a-4p all Neighborhood Fire Stations in the City of Los Angeles will be hosting Open Houses to show their appreciation for the communities they serve. This is an annual event known as Fire Service Recognition Day and it always takes place on the second Saturday in May.
Fire fighters will be on hand to strengthen community-wide emergency preparedness and disaster resiliency.
Along with personal tours of our neighborhood Fire Stations, the LAFD is hosting simultaneous demonstrations and enhanced displays at the Fire Station and LAFD Museum on Cole. Get there early to enjoy an LAFD prepared pancake breakfast!

Of course a little closer to our neighborhood are Fire Stations #29 (Van Ness and Wilshire), Fire Station #61 (3rd Street and Alta Vista) and Fire Station #52 (Melrose and Western).
For those unable to attend on Saturday due to religious observance three special locations will be opened on Sunday, May 13th from 10a-4p, including Fire Station #61 on 3rd Street at Alta Vista.
