Today, The Sunset & Vine District will host a free concert and art exhibit at Amoeba Music at 6400 Sunset Blvd to launch its public art initiative. The  project, initially intended to transform common utility boxes into visually attractive displays of art, has culminated in 10 original public artworks for display throughout the District.

The paintings by local artist Paige Emery, selected by the Sunset & Vine District through an extensive application process and featuring local up-and-coming boxes, will be on exhibit at Amoeba Music on Wednesday from 10:30 am to 9 pm. The bands featured in the utility box paintings will also be featured in a free concert Wednesday starting at 6 pm in the area along Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street.
