The distinctive French Chateau-style house in Hancock Park at 4th and Las Palmas is back on the market, this time for $5,995 million.
Designed by Stiles O. Clements in the 1930s for art patrons Mildred and Lucius Green, this classic French Country-style home has seen its share of celebrity owners. Emmy winner Sela Ward and her husband, Howard Sherman, completely restored the home during their ownership, later flipping it to American Rag Chief Executive Mark Werts for about $3.8 million. Werts has since moved on, and the stunningly sophisticated house is now for sale at $5.995 million, reported Hot Property – the Los Angeles Times real estate blog.
The home has been used regularly as a backdrop for celebrity magazine features in Vanity Fair and Town & Country, according to Redfin.com. The formal garden was also featured several years ago on the annual Los Angeles Garden Tour presented by the Windsor Square – Hancock Park Historical Society.Â
