Entertainment industry publication Variety reported this week that actor/producer David Arquette has listed the historic O’Melveny House at 5th and Plymouth in Windsor Square for $8,495,000 with realtor Hilton and Hyland.

An historic mansion in the historically wealthy Windsor Square area of Los Angeles that’s owned, so swear several of our better connected informants including the inestimable Lucy Spillerguts, by actor/producer and former professional wrestler David Arquette has come up for sale with an asking price of $8,495,000. Mister Arquette, who gives voice to a parrot named Skully in the animated musical series “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and executive produces the “Celebrity Name Game” program, acquired the so-called O’Melveny House via inscrutable blind trust for $7.15 million in August 2014, the year after his by most accounts amicable divorce from Courtney Cox was finalized and the year before he married his current wife Christina McLarty. Designed by the fine architects at the Hunt, Eager & Burns firm and built in 1908 for prominent attorney Henry O’Melveny, the residence is described in listing descriptions as a 9,708-square-foot “English Craftsman” that’s “meticulously restored to its original stateliness” with seven bedrooms and six full and two half bathrooms. – reported by Mark David @YourMamaTweets

A similar story also appeared this week on Curbed LA

Constructed by architectural firm Hunt, Eager, and Burns in 1908, the 9,708 square-foot home was originally located about two miles away, but was pulled by horses to its current site by then-owner Henry O’Melveny. The residence was also the longtime home to the Rindge family, who donated the land for Pepperdine University.

Located on a three-quarter-acre lot, the home features an elegant living room and dining room, large covered patio, and a beautiful entryway complete with mahogany staircase. The kitchen looks like it was recently redone and doesn’t completely match the rest of the house, but per the listing, it does include a butler’s pantry—which seems more in keeping with the home’s aristocratic air. The large outdoor area includes a pool, spa, and meditation pond. Asking price is $8.495 million. That’s up from the $7.15 million Arquette paid in 2014. – reported Elijah Chiland.
