Little Free Library

It has been four years since we opened our “Little Free Library” on the corner of Larchmont Boulevard and Rosewood Avenue. We are very excited to say that the library is still one of Larchmont’s most visited areas. The idea of bringing the Larchmont community together through the power of books was inspired by Dr. Arthur A. Kezian, DDS. He has had his dental office here in Larchmont Village for more than 34 years.

Los Angeles Dentist Dr. Kezian is involved with the community in many ways. Building a free library, for all to enjoy, is just one of the ways he has affected our community. Even though the idea was initially sparked by Dr. Kezian, the project would not be successful without the active participation of Larchmont locals and visitors alike. Every day we notice a new book in the library, and appreciate that someone has taken the time out of their day to bring it over.

DrKezian_Larchmont_Library3We have also had donations by the dozen – sometimes boxes full of books are dropped off by lovely people, helping us keep this project thriving. Everyone involved with the Little Free Library on Larchmont is thankful for the fact that it exists, and our team here at Dr. Kezian’s office is truly thankful for their contributions. Active participation, and projects like this, truly help bring the community together. We hope to see everyone’s continued involvement for years to come.

DrKezianDDSWhen Dr. Kezian was asked why he created this project, he replied, “Larchmont Village is already a great community with wonderful people. I felt that putting the library here would be a great addition to a great community. It would get everyone to stop by and take a moment out of their busy day to unwind. It would get people to chat with each other, and catch up with their friends. It would make a strong community that much stronger.”

We hope to see the strength of this community live on. Perhaps someday down the line, when the office has changed, and Larchmont Village has continued to evolve, the library will still be standing. It is our hope that a new generation will also partake, and continue to foster the spirit of community involvement, as well as the power of literature.

The office is always happy to receive more books. For anyone who would like to make a donation, please call us at (323) 467-2777. Our staff is also available to pick-up books from you, for your convenience!
