The Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire Blvd is now closed for a year long renovation, as many local area car buffs well know. But some of their most ‘priceless automobiles apparently are begging for more exposure, so will be displayed in a special exhibit beginning Tuesday, Oct 28th in Simi Valley at the Ronald Reagan Museum.

Meanwhile, if Simi Valley isn’t on your schedule in the near future, you can get a taste for which cars are in the exhibition via this short time-lapse film produced by the Petersen, which shows some of the world’s most famous cars being hoisted 40 feet up and into the loading door of the Ronald Reagan Museum.

You have to appreciate the crane operator – it must have been a white-knuckler for anyone in charge of getting the batmobile or Thelma and Louisa’s pink convertible properly towed and stowed without a scratch.

Can you identify any other of the museum’s most precious airborne automobiles?

“Amazing Automobiles: The Ultimate Car Exhibit” opens October 28th at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA.
