Wilshire Boulevard Street Art

LACMA Street Art 1

One of the joys of living in a city like Los Angeles is stumbling upon the unexpected – like the  glam shopping cart that someone has plunked down in front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the Miracle Mile.

The gold and diamond encrusted piece of anonymous artwork is one part commentary, one part humor and one part art – and it sure makes me wonder who chained it to the bike rack. I’ve long smiled at the tiny, shiny red tricycle that is also chained here, and loved hitching my bike up next to it, hoping that some little tyke has also come to the galleries for some inspiration and meditation. Maybe his grandmother, fresh from a shopping trip on Rodeo Drive, has now joined him at the museum.
