The Wilshire Girls Softball League is getting ready for the start of the 2016 season. The fast pitch league welcomes girls of all skill levels ages 5-14 to sign up for the Spring season, which starts the first week of February and runs through the end of April. Practices and games are held at two different locations in the Hollywood-Mid-City area: Lemon Grove Recreation Area and Queen Anne Recreation Area.
In preparation for drafting teams for the season, the league is holding an Evaluation Day, on January 24 for all registered players to be evaluated in basic drills. Â Girls should bring their cleats and gloves along with helmets, bats and face masks, if they have them. Please note: Evaluation Day is mandatory for all girls! If your daughter cannot make it, please contact League VP Tony Acosta: [email protected].
Regular registration fee is $195. This includes a jersey with custom nickname and number, team socks and visor. All girls are responsible for their own black pants, gloves and cleats. Most girls also have their own batting helmets and bats, but it is not required (the league can supply helmets and bats as needed). There is a sibling discount of $25. Partial scholarships are available.
Visit WilshireSoftball.com for more information and to register before January 24th or contact league president Adam Glickman with any questions: [email protected].
