Pouring a glass of wine, sipping a scotch, downing a beer. It’s an almost daily occurrence for many of us. And now, there’s an app for that.
In fact, there are three mobile apps now available for Android and iOS that allow users to order alcohol delivered to your door, much like the pizza guy delivers a large pie. The services connect with participating liquor stores in your area to fulfill the order, and generally promise to have the bottle(s) of booze to your door within 30-60 minutes. Not all apps serve all neighborhoods – they are working on setting up relationships with local vendors  – but our quick check of getting wine delivered to 100 N. Larchmont Blvd on the newest of the apps, Minibar, looked liked they’d be able to deliver to those in the Larchmont area.
While sometimes the lack of drinkables in the liquor cabinet or wine refrigerator is a good thing for both mind and body  – we can definitely see how this kind of delivery service may just be perfect for getting a bottle sent over to a friend as a thank you. It could also help out in a crunch when, in the midst of hosting a party, you realize your guests are drinking far more than you’d planned for.
Then again, if you’re really local, you can just call over to Larchmont Wine & Spirits (3232-856-8699) and ask Simon to send over a few bottles, provided it’s before 7 pm and not on a Sunday. Â They deliver wine and gifts (no food so don’t try to get those delicious sandwiches on order) anywhere in Los Angeles with enough lead time, and can do a quick turnaround if it’s very local.
Bogie’s Liquor Store on Melrose and Vine has been delivering to the Larchmont area for 40 yrs. and it doesn’t take 60 mins.
