Upon being elected to office, Mayor Garcetti committed to spending a day in the district with each of the 15 Councilmembers to learn about their priorities and projects. Recently, Mayor Garcetti spent time in CD3 with Councilmember Bob Blumenfield focusing on the district’s thriving business-development climate. Today, Thursday May 29, is CD4’s turn.

Mayor Garcetti will spend the morning with Councilmember Tom LaBonge to visit the new Purple Line extension and tour iconic attractions to discuss economic development in Council District. The three sights include: Metro Purple Line Excavation Shaft, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Urban Light, and the Pan Pacific Park Senior Center. Last week, Mayor Garcetti traveled to Washington, D.C. to announce that L.A. had secured $1.25 billion in federal funding for the Metro Purple Line Extension.

Members of both Metro and LACMA leadership will join the pair at their respective stops on today’s tour.
