city Councilmember David Ryu released his 2018-2019 Annual Report last week, showcasing his office’s  achievements on addressing homelessness, improving parks and the environment, and creating a more equitable and just Los Angeles by calling for measures to increase transparency of campaign contributions and discretionary spending.

“In this booklet, you will find my three pillars for Council District Four: Building Homeless & Housing Solutions, Growing a Sustainable Los Angeles, and Leveling the Playing Field. Each one explores the work we’ve done and the future we’re building for our district and its residents,” Ryu wrote in his opening letter for the report. “One guiding belief drives them  – that the greatest investment we can make is in each other, and that when we create opportunities for all people, we create a stronger future for Los Angeles.”

Highlights include new programs to repair failed streets and protect City trees, six new homeless housing projects – three of which opened this year, and Councilmember Ryu’s initiatives on Children’s Savings Accounts and Paid Parental Leave.
