Workers have been busy at 139 N Larchmont Blvd this week, pulling together the new site for Groundwork Coffee, making it the fifth high-end coffee purveyor on the boulevard. Representatives for Groundwork told the Larchmont Buzz that they hope to open in two weeks, or by the end of June at the latest.
The earth-toned facade is lined with slatted wood and faced with black tile, showcasing an angled front window which may provide space for some tucked-in outdoor tables.
Groundwork began as a small-batch organic roaster with a single coffee shop in Venice, CA 25 years ago, and has now expanded to ten shops across LA. It supplies its certified organic Groundwork coffee beans to over 900 coffee wholesalers across the country.
Do we need another coffee shop? Probably not. But then again – coffee shops have a way of bringing people together to socialize and share, so it may not be the worst thing for the Village either.
