An elderly woman was found dead in her South Beachwood Drive home Monday evening. LAPD is investigating the death as a homicide. Initial reports indicate that victim was stabbed in her house.
Around 7:30pm, LAPD’s Wilshire Division responded in force to a call from the LAFD regarding a dead body in a house on the 100 South block of Beachwood Drive in Windsor Square. Soon after the LAPD arrived, officers used yellow police tape to restrict traffic along the stretch of Beachwood/1st Street between Plymouth and Gower Street; and along Gower Street between 1st Street and Beverly Boulevard. A search for a suspect took place on the ground, with support from an LAPD airship above, lighting up backyards in the area. No suspect has been found.
Word of the activity attracted the news media and helicopters arrived for the 10p news cycle to cover the story from the air.
Caretaker(s) discovered the body around 7p. The 911 dispatch included LAFD/EMT. It is unknown exactly how long the Beachwood resident was dead.

Any news on this? Suspects?
We’ve been trying to get more information from the LAPD but no luck so far – as is often the situation when a case is ‘under investigation.’ We’ll keep readers in the loop when we hear more.
