 Landis Gifts & Stationery will host a celebratory 25th Anniversary reception on Thursday evening, November 12th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Please join the festivities in the store, located at 138 N. Larchmont Boulevard, and partake in drinks, hors d’oeuvres, sweet treats and good cheer. There will be one hour validated parking in the lot next to Rite-Aid. Landis Gifts & Stationery celebrates a heritage harkening back to 1933, when Landis Department Store opened on the Boulevard, with Bob Landis working for his father. Bob Landis continued at the helm of Landis Department Store, until he decided to close shop, circa 1990. Around the same time, Chris Wolfus and Edie Frere were starting up. When they approached Landis about carrying on the Larchmont tradition of personal service, he happily agreed for them to continue the “Landis” name. Chris and Edie charted course across the street, and opened Landis General Store in 1990.
Today, there are three distinct Landis stores – Landis General Store, Landis Labyrinth and Landis Gifts & Stationery. Edie, owner of Landis Gifts & Stationery,  enjoys greeting and helping customers, who are welcomed to select from the store’s charming selection of fine stationery, fabulous smelling candles and soaps, personalized gifts, decorative items and more. As one of the Board of Directors of the Larchmont Boulevard Association (LBA), Edie is wonderful at connecting Larchmont’s merchants with one another, and the community.
