LAPD Olympic Division – Captain’s Corner April 28th

This month’s LAPD Olympic Division Captain’s Corner was recently posted on the Olympic Community Police Station website. This episode of the Captain’s Corner is hosted by Captain Robert Arcos, Commanding Officer Olympic Division.

Captain Arcos gives viewers a new glimpse of the state-of-the-art Olympic Community Police Station – direct from the Olympic Gym. He addresses some of the fitness goals the Division has laid out and shares the success their Olympic Division had in the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay  that was held over the weekend of April 21-22. The Olympic team finished 3rd in their category in this 120 mile relay…wow!

Towards the end of this video segment, Captain Arcos addresses the major increase in crime that the area is experiencing…year to date we’re seeing a 9.8% increase in area crime. Captain Arcos reminds us that if we see somthing – say something.  It’s important that we maintain awareness and that we communicate with each other…it’s one of the reasons we at LarchmontBuzz feel it’s important to post about crime. When you, the reader, knows what you are up against you can prepare your property and take other proper safety precautions.

The most basic among these precautions – Lock it. Hide it. Keep it. Don’t leave valuables in your car. Items left in cars make them easy targets for criminals.

The Larchmont Buzz thanks Olympic Area Captain Tina Nieto for selecting Larchmont Buzz to receive an Attorney General Award of Citizen Appreciation for our work with the Olympic Division via the Captain’s Corner. It was a real honor to be at LAPD Headquarters and to be among those selected to meet California State Attorney General Kamala Harris. It makes us realize how many truly generous, brave and special people it takes to make our city function. Our contribution was quite small in comparison to the big things that people do everyday to protect and preserve our community. Thanks to our LAPD Officers and thanks to all the other citizens recognized by the Attorney General.
