The Coalition to Preserve LA, backers of the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative, announced yesterday they would wait until spring of next year to put the measure on the ballot. The measure seeks to control the current proliferation of new development in Los Angeles by placing a two-year moratorium on projects that cannot be built without changes to the city’s existing zoning codes.
“Our initiative is way too important to be buried at the tail end of this November’s ballot,” said Jill Stewart, Coalition spokeswoman standing with supporters outside City Hall according to the Los Angeles Times.
