The less-than-lovely former Vagabond Inn is but a distant memory after it was raised in late 2013- so we were wondering what’s on the slate for 1133 Vine Street? Turns out it’s a new hotel – a 112 room, six-story hotel that will sit deep on the skinny lot along the west side of Vine at Lillian Way.

The still-unnamed hotel is being brought to the south Hollywood area by developer Sunil Patel of Holvine Investments Inc.  and will offer a small ground floor cafe, swimming pool and 63 parking spaces, mostly underground.

The plans were approved in late 2013 by the City Planning Commission under the Hollywood Community Plan, to allow for a height increase to a maximum of 77 feet. It may be just what this major arterial needs – more traveler-friendly small hotel not far from Hancock Park. No date yet for completion.

The Vagabond Inn is now long gone.
