If you’re on Larchmont Boulevard in the coming weeks, you’ll notice transition going on at the former site of La Bottega Marino…change that will involve some purple and pink paint. Pinches Tacos is coming to the neighborhood. Renovation will start on the space in the coming days.

The Larchmont Boulevard location will be the fourth LA location for Pinches Tacos, a family run Mexican Restaurant based in Culver City. The family behind the scenes is the Anaya’s – mom, dad and their five adult kids who are all focused on creating a sense of community by sharing great food and their commitment to customer service. The family patriarch, El Don Miguel, was the head chef at The Ivy for 27 years. He’s all in on this family project and currently oversees quality control – even, hand-picking the avocados used for guacamole every morning. His children learned the restaurant business at his feet and have that same commitment to quality ingredients, fresh produce, hand made tortillas and making sure the customer has an all-around positive experience.

Brothers Miguel, Jr. and Javier Anaya invited Larchmont Buzz over to their flagship Culver City location to share their excitement about opening on Larchmont Boulevard. They know the neighborhood (their uncle is Javier Prado of Prado Restaurant) and they are committed to being good neighbors – supporting local schools, supporting their favorite charity HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles) and taking part in neighborhood functions.

The Larchmont Boulevard location will focus on take-out, home delivery, catering and a fast serve, stand up option for people looking for a quick bite on the go.

The obvious question – does the Boulevard need more Mexican food on the heals of Chipotle opening in the the former Koo Koo Roo space on Larchmont and Beverly? You just have to experience Pinches Tacos to know how different the two restaurants are from each other. Family recipes passed down for years, family members choosing fresh ingredients every day and a menu that goes beyond burritos and bowls.

After a few weeks of renovation, Pinches Tacos should be open for business, sometime towards the end of March. Be on the look out for their grand opening – with free samples of tacos and more!

Note:  The name Pinches Tacos is a play on words…according to Javier Anaya, pinches is Mexican slang and means something along the lines of “freakin'”. But it also means cook’s assistant or kitchen boy. The Anaya kids all grew up as cook’s assistants…so the play on words is really a tribute to their place in a family of chefs.
