Flashing stop lights have been installed on the crosswalks along the the interior portion of Larchmont Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and 1st Street. The flashing lights were installed by the LA Department of Transportation at the request of Councilmember Tom LaBonge to help warn motorists that STOP means stop.
“I am a big fan of the new flashing stop lights requested by CD4 and recently installed at the Larchmont Village crosswalks,” Joane Pickett  told the Buzz. Her shop, Pickett Fences, faces the northern crosswalk. “While they are not necessarily a pretty addition to the Village, they make the crosswalks safer and that is the top priority. Every day, we see near misses with distracted drivers almost hitting pedestrians and I hope these stop lights make drivers more aware of pedestrians.”

Sad to see more visual clutter on the boulevard. I always stop for peds there, but sans peds a California roll will do.
