Wilton Place Scene of Sunday Police Pursuit and Traffic Accident

LAPD-copcars

LAPD Olympic Division Senior Lead Officer Joseph Pelayo has helped shed some light on the Sunday street closure of Wilton Place between 2nd and 3rd Streets.

Early Sunday, a Radio Call of Unknown Trouble (Female Threatening a male with a knife) went out to area officers directing them to Wilshire Boulevard and Wilton Place at the 7-Eleven. The first Unit arrived and observed a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The Unit attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle. The fleeing vehicle failed to stop. The Unit broadcast they were in pursuit and within seconds they broadcast that the fleeing vehicle had been involved in a solo accident with parked vehicles and a tree. The three occupants were injured, one critically. The driver was arrested for felony evading.

The street remained closed for much of the day Sunday while LAPD conducted its investigation.
