The Larchmont Village Business Improvement District (BID)  announced the winner of their first annual window decorating contest on Larchmont Blvd, and Louis Eafalla of Village Heights took the prize. Village Heights offers fine gifts, jewelry, paper and accessories and is owned by Louis Eafalla. It is located on the south east end of the boulevard at 122 1/2 N Larchmont Blvd.

Landis Gifts & Stationery took second prize and honorable mentions were given to Flicka and Alternative Apparel.

“I wanted to do a real sparkly and white window this year,” owner Louis Eafalla told the Buzz. “It’s the favorite one I’ve ever done.” Eafalla designed and installed the window himself after seeing the crystal-covered reindeers at a trade show earlier this year, and finding the sparkling spheres that remind him of snowflakes.

“It’s been a great shopping season this year – and I think the window has actually helped. I’ve had people come in who said they saw the window while driving by, and made a point of stopping to shop.”

The first annual Larchmont Village Holiday Lighting contest was open to judging from December 1-15 by a panel of judges selected by the Larchmont Village BID. Each judge selected their top three picks and the storefront with the most votes was the winner. The lighting contest was co-sponsored by the Larchmont Buzz and Larchmont Chronicle. All businesses within the BID (Larchmont Blvd. to Beverly Blvd to 1st Street) were encouraged to participate and dress their windows to the hilt.

The winner will receive a $500 cash prize from the LVBID and LADWP; and free advertising for one month in the Larchmont Buzz and the Larchmont Chronicle.

The festive windows along Larchmont Blvd have been captured at dusk by Buzz photographer Alexandra Cooper – scroll through the shops here online, and hopefully also stroll past them on the boulevard!
