CD4 Councilman Tom LaBonge Going Out in Style

The Los Angeles City Council will celebrate the 39 year career of Councilman Tom LaBonge on Tuesday, June 23rd. Members of the community are invited to attend the ceremony and thank the Councilman for a career dedicated to public service Council District 4.

The ceremony will happen at 10 a.m. in the John Ferraro Council Chambers, in City Hall. 200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. For parking, email Ben Seinfeld in the CD4 Council Office with your car make, model, and license plate by 4 p.m. Monday June 22nd.

The Eastsider has a story about some gift-giving that Councilman LaBonge is doing on his way out of office. According to the website, LaBonge will distribute more than $240,000 to deserving organizations across the CD4 Council District. Gifts to entities in our area include $50,000 to LACMA; $10,000 to LA High School; $10,000 to Alexandria House; $10,000 to the Larchmont Business Improvement District (to fund a sidewalk study); $5,000 to the Hollywood YMCA; $5,000 to the Anderson Munger Family YMCA; and $2,500 to the Peterson Museum.

Funds will come from the Council District Real Property Trust Fund.
