A group from KW Larchmont teamed up to walk and raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society this past weekend at Sunset Gower Studios. On Saturday evening, the Studio played host to the Light the Night Walk, an annual fund raising event put on by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society nationally.

Funds raised by teams and individual walkers provide:

  • Lifesaving blood cancer research
  • Free educational materials and events for patients and their families
  • Local programs such as Family Support Groups and First Connection, a peer-to-peer counseling program
  • Comprehensive, personalized assistance through the L&LS Information Resource Center

Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During this leisurely walk, walkers carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer – thousands of walkers – men, women and children – form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer.

Saturday’s event was a 2 mile walk in Hollywood (Sunset/Gower to Vine; to Hollywood Boulevard and back to Sunset/Gower) and raised over $1 Million! The KW Larchmont team contributed nearly $2,000 to that total and had a lot of fun with a great KW turn-out. It’s nice to see local business leaders focused on giving back to the community.
