Members of Troop 621 Decorate the Poles on Larchmont Boulevard

Troop 621 Scouts Ryan Lee (l) and Roy Yang (r) decorate one of many poles on Larchmont Boulevard.

Have you ever thought about how Larchmont Boulevard gets decorated for the holidays? All the work that goes into tying the ribbons around the trees, decorating the shop windows, and wrapping the candy cane poles…each of these elements helps add to the holiday ambiance in our neighborhood at this time of year.

Last weekend members of Boy Scout Troop 621 decorated the parking meter and other various poles on Larchmont Boulevard from 1st Street to Melrose. It’s a big task with over 150 poles requiring two sets of hands to get them to look just right.

Scouts from Troop 621 have been decorating the poles for over 15 years. Next time you see them selling pancake breakfast tickets on the Boulevard, be sure to think of their holiday decorations skills and give back!

It takes two sets of hands to put the candy cane stripes on the Larchmont Boulevard poles.
