Like many of you, our family has been fans of La Buca from the start. I remember when the restaurant only had 5 tables and Filipo (who has moved on to Osteria Mamma) was the assistant to the Dean Martin-look-alike who moved back to Italy. On a hot summer night, with the ceiling fans on over-drive – it felt like we had found a little slice of Rome close to home.
There have been some times when La Buca really shines – and now is one of those times. We visited recently and the place felt like the best version of itself. I was happy to see this recent review in the LA Times. LA Times Restaurant Critic S. Irene Virbila notes that Osteria La Buca really needs to be considered a new restaurant – between it’s new renovation and new chef, Jason Neroni. All I have to say is – don’t miss the bread!
