St. James’ Soup Kitchen Needs You

St. James in the City (3903 Wilshire Blvd at St. Andrews) is putting out a call for help in their Friday Soup Kitchen. They need additional volunteers for a few hours on a regular basis, anytime between 3:30 pm and 6 pm on Friday evenings. Volunteers gather in the parish kitchen to prepare sandwiches and salads and set up the dining room for the meal which serves at 5 pm.

The Soup Kitchen was started in 1995 and today serves 100-130 people  a meal of soup, sandwiches, a variety of side dishes, and dessert to approximately 6,000 people per year. This is a great way to give back to our community, and an excellent way for your student to work the “community service hours” required by many schools.

Please let Fr. Tom know at either [email protected] or 213-388-3417, ext 102 if you can lend a hand.
