Meghan Daum, opinion columnist for the LA Times, will read and sign her newest book The Unspeakable, at Chevalier’s Books this Thursday, July 16 at 7 pm.
Known for her piercing insight into today’s world and a humor that is reminiscent of Nora Ephron, The Unspeakable “dissects our culture’s most dangerous illusions, blind spots, and sentimentalities while retaining Meghan’s own joy and compassion. Through it all, she dramatizes the search for an authentic self in a world where achieving an identity is never simple and never complete.”
In addition to her regular columns in the LA Times, Daum is the author to many books and essays including Selfish, Shallow & Self-Absorbed: Sixteen Writers on the Decision Not to Have Kids, My Misspent Youth, The Quality of Life Report, and Life Would Be Perfect If I Lived in That House, a memoir. She is currently also an adjunct associate professor in the M.F.A. Writing Program at Columbia University.
