On Thursday evening, a dispute between a kitchen worker and food server erupted in the kitchen area of the Wilshire Country Club, and ended with the server, Emmanuel Bravo, 28, dead of stab wounds suffered in the altercation.  On Friday, according to the L.A. Times, the kitchen worker, Erick Antonio Hernandez, was arrested on suspicion of murder, and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.  LAPD Detective John Radtke, quoted in the Times story, said the two men disliked each other and had an ongoing dispute.  Hernandez initially fled the scene of the stabbing, but was taken into custody the next morning.
In a statement released late Thursday night, Wilshire Country Club President called Bravo, “a fine young man with such a bright future,” and promised his support for Bravo’s family, as well as counseling for other WCC employees who witnessed the incident (no customers or club members were present).
